I WOULD like to thank everyone concerned with The Glory Riders' MCC 3rd Annual Motorcycle Show, held on Sunday, June 20, at The Red Lion Pub, Whitebirk Road, Whitebirk. We had hoped to raise money for Hargreaves House Respite Care Centre, Thwaites Road, Oswaldwtistle, but due to atrocious weather, we were lucky to break even. Undaunted, and with further events planned this year, we will make good our promise and continue to support Hargreaves House.
I would like to thank local motorcycle outlets who supported our cause. Keith Dixons, George Clarke's and Phil Youles all providing prizes for the raffle.
Special thanks to our DJ, Peter Hodgson, aka Peter St James, who was nothing short of brilliant, and who once again provided his services free.
Special thanks too, to Dave McCarthy and his team from Max Revs.
Finally, may I thank the many members of The Glory Riders' MCC themselves, who worked so hard before and during the event. Only the weather let us down.
Next week, 10 of our members ride to the Czech Republic, delivering toys to a children's home near the Slovak border. We hope the weather will be better, but like the day of our show, rain won't stop us.
K SAVAGE, Lonsdale Street, Accrington.
