POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a 21-year-old man was injured in a drive-by shooting at Accrington.
The incident happened as the victim walked along Countess Street at 4.30pm on Friday.
He was walking on the pavement when a car went past and a passenger leaned out and shot at him.
The victim was hit in the stomach by an air gun pellet and needed hospital treatment for minor injuries.
The attacker was in a black, three-door car. He was white and aged between 20 and 25 and there were at least two people in the vehicle.
Police, who are trying to establish a motive for the attack, say the weapon could have been an air pistol.
