CHILDREN in a Clitheroe school had an intensive day of work and fun while finding out about their local industries.
All pupils of St James CEP, from reception class to year six, were involved in the event.
It was organised by teacher Christine Taylor, with help from representatives of many companies who spent the day in classrooms.
And to record the events of the day, photographer Jack Barry ran a hands-on session in the art of camera work, while Rita Shaw from the Lancashire Evening Telegraph set up an editorial team specifically to write and design their own industry day newspaper. During the previous week in preparation for their roles as journalists, pupils from year five in the school made two separate journeys to our head office and printing plant borrowing our Millennium Bus on free loan from Lancashire Leyland Daf, Accrington.
Headteacher of St James, Paul Adnitt expressed his thanks to Leyland Daf.
He described the bus as "a superb ride, with power steering making the vehicle very manoeuvrable."
