TWO experts from the regional health authority pledged to take up the fight for modern maternity facilities after a fact-finding tour of the Queen's Park Hospital unit in Blackburn.
Earlier in the year officials warned the service was on the brink of collapse because of poor facilities, a shortage of staff and a baby boom.
