TWO girls from Park High School, Colne, have been chosen to train with the Lancashire under-14 development squad for hockey.
The achievement is remarkable because 12-year-olds Charlotte Bickerstaffe, far right, and Charlotte Blackburn, right, who have already shown the qualities necessary to play at county level, will be playing with girls up to two years older than they are.
The development squad prepares players for the full county team.
Park is celebrating success on the athletics field as well. Jennifer Tunstill, 15, became the intermediate girls' 800m champion and Lisa Cockerill, also 15, was runner-up in the intermediate girls' long jump at a county meeting in Blackpool.
Other members of the Park contingent in the Pendle squad were: Kirk Lee, Anne Smith, Louise Dickinson and Emma Ellis.
