ICE dancers Jonathan O'Dougherty and Pamela O'Connor have been called up to the Great Britain squad for a Senior International competition in Oberstdorf, Germany, in September.
The former British Junior champions, who train at Blackburn Arena, earned their selection after a string of impressive performances, including second place in a National Series event in Basingstoke recently.
O'Dougherty, 21, and O'Connor, 19, have been skating together for nearly five years and are coached by former England star Karen Barber.
The duo are the current Welsh Senior Ice Dance champions and are sponsored by Blackburn tailor Robert Wilson, who also makes their costumes.
They are also part of the British Olympic squad and hope to go training in France before the competition gets under way in Germany on September 1.
"They are among the elite skaters in the world, so hopefully we'll gain some valuable experience from them," said Jonathan.
