A SIX year dream has come true for a new organisation - thanks to a Lottery jackpot.

Add A Voice saw their new office and resource centre at 53, Church Street, Leigh, open on Friday.

The association is the local advocacy development group for Wigan Borough, and works with both individuals and other local voluntary organisations to ensure that vulnerable and disadvantaged people can have their voices heard.

The national lottery grant has enabled the group to set up its premises and employ two members of staff.

They are already working with local groups in assisting people with learning difficulties, parents of children with special needs, women affected by addiction, the physically disabled and others who need help in expressing their wishes and needs.

In addition Add A Voice has just set up a forum of local organisations caring for older people in order to help them with their advocacy work.
