IT'S official - you can live longer by making a bequest in your will!
Legacy specialists Smee and Ford have revealed that people who leave money to charity in their will are likely to live two years longer than those who don't.
And their revelation has spurred a Preston charity into re-launching its information booklet: A Guide to Making a Will.
Peter Taylor, director of the Preston and North Lancashire Blind Welfare Society, said: "Smee and Ford are the UK's leading legacy specialists and we have no reason to doubt their findings.
"Our society has seen a substantial fall in its income from donations and fund-raising over the past 18 months and we hope this news, with the publication of our new booklet, will provide an incentive for people to leave a bequest to us in their will."
The society operates several local centres and community services are available across the whole district, supporting more than 3,500 blind people across the county.
The A Guide to Making A Will booklet is available from Mr Taylor on (01772) 744148.
