I ENJOY many of H Hamer's letters, but feel the latest one has hit rock bottom (Letters, June 24).
With all the horrendous things going on in the world, sculptures should be the least of our worries.
Let's use our energy to stop the plight of children in the special schools, about to get the chop; a bit more support for the two homes for the elderly may have saved them.
The poor turn-out in the local elections was criminal. I cannot understand people who are not happy with the representatives they have got not voting them out.
That is the only language they understand.
New Labour, like old Tories, are not for turning. We all know what happened to 'old Tories.'
It's no use Granvlle Broadhurst (Letters, June 23) gloating about the demise of Tony Blair when the Tory party saw the cliff edge, but, like lemmings, kept going.
It seems Tony Blair is determined to do the same.
Same policies, same cliff, same lemmings.
