RUBEROID Sutton Cricket Club notched up a fine victory in their derby clash with Prescot/Odyssey on Saturday.
Batting first, Sutton made 203-8 declared with Mike Rimmer making a timely return to form with 90.
Joe Harvey and SS Das also hit quick runs.
In reply Prescot were coasting at 130-3 with 20 overs left but three wickets in one over for SS Das turned the match and the visitors were bowled out for 172.
This win consolidates Sutton's position of second in the league and sets them up for an exciting second half to the season.
The Second XI played at Prescot/Odyssey and also batted first. Sutton made 182-2 declared with Martin Harvey making 94 and Ste Wearden 50 not out.
Sutton's bowlers were always in control and Prescot were bowled out for 120 with the wickets being shared.
Junior nets are held every Wednesday at 6pm at New Street. All juniors, boys and girls are welcome for the under 11s, 13s and 15s teams.
