THE world pool championships will arrive in Morecambe on July 10.
The competition will start with the youth and juniors competition and finish on July 23 when representatives will meet the Queen.
Said organiser Alan Marshall: "It's the biggest tournament ever with some good local players expecting to do well."
Tourism chairman, Cllr June Ashworth, said: "I am very pleased to welcome back to Morecambe the World Pool Championship, especially in the period that includes the Queen's visit. I very much hope that all participants have an enjoyable visit and that we can host the first World Pool Championships of the 21st Century."
