A SECURITY guard's clothing saved him from serious injury when he was stabbed by a burglar.
The incident happened outside flats in Oak Lane, Whitefield, on Tuesday when the guard was patrolling the area around 9.45pm. He spotted the man trying to break into a flat.
Detective Sergeant Dave Maguire said: "He was attacked with a knife. But his clothes took the brunt of the assault."
The guard did not require hospital treatment.
The burglar was 5ft 4ins tall, aged about 20, with shaved, fair hair. He was wearing a white Reebok T-shirt with collar, dark combat-type trousers and black Reebok trainers.
