FORTUNES were mixed in this see-saw game which either side could have won in the Northern Ford Premiership rugby league.

Lancashire, buoyant from their last two wins, were confident throughout the game but were undone by a couple of basic errors to lose 22-29.

Lynx were caught early when ex-Salford Reds winger Fata Sini scooted from dummy half and the ball was flashed to centre Matt Lambert who scored on the right wing.

Jamie Benn, the York full back, converted the first of his 12-point haul to give Wasps the advantage.

Minutes later Lynx hit back with a great try set up by the hard-working Tommy Hodgkinson.

Wasps regained the lead with a penalty and second row Chris Judge soon went for his first try.

A bomb put up by Neil Alexander caused York all sorts of problems in their in goal area and Flannagan dived on the loose ball to put Lynx level again.

Man of the match PJ Soloman appeared to be in on every tackle.

Danny Guest took another over the line and Roberts converted. Lynx were in front 18 points to 13 where it stayed until half-time.

The second half began brightly but Lynx lost the initiative when Darren Abram was tackled inches from the line.

Wasps as they threw everything at Lynx and, after around 20 tackles they made the breakthrough.

Again, York had managed to get back in front and the score stood at 19 points to 18.

Minutes later Abram made a great break from a York knock on and Soloman ran over for the try of the game.

But Roberts missed the conversion and Lynx had only a three-point advantage. Sub Richard Goddard made Lynx pay when he scored a try in the closing minutes and Benn converted.
