ARMY veterans from the Queen's Lancashire Regiment joined forces to honour those who died in the First World War's bloodiest battle.
The veterans and members of the regiment paraded through Blackburn town centre to mark the Somme anniversary.
Army Cadets and the Royal Signals Territorial Army also took part in the event.
The parade was followed by a open air concert given by the regimental band. Music continued throughout the afternoon with a performance from Gospel singers and the Wigan Youth Jazz Orchestra.
Organisers say this year's event is particularly poignant because it will be the last one this century.
