SCOTLAND skipper Colin Hendry was holding a Press conference this afternoon to talk about his situation with Rangers.
But, despite long-running speculation, Blackburn Rovers continue to shrug off suggestions that they are interested in taking Hendry back to Ewood for a third stint.
Rumours of a disagreement with Rangers coach Dick Advocaat surfaced before the Scottish Cup Final in May when the Dutchman told Hendry, 33, that he couldn't be guaranteed a first-team spot.
With skipper Lorenzo Amoruso and fellow central defender Craig Moore set to become the first-choice partnership at the back for Rangers next term, Hendry is left facing spending the last years of his career on the substitutes' bench.
It is not the scenario Hendry envisaged when he completed his dream move to the club he supported as a boy back in August.
His £4million transfer from Blackburn was expected to provide a fitting end to a career which has earned universal praise - and a Premiership title with the Ewood club back in 1995.
But a persistent groin injury curtailed his early season appearances and his performances after he returned to the side do not appear to have convinced Advocaat that the combative defender is up to the task of steering the club to European glory.
