THE season continues in earnest this weekend as all three of our local teams look for points to steer them back up the table.
Preston have a short journey this weekend - to local rivals Leyland at Fox Lane.
Leyland were the only team to pick up any points last weekend, collecting a losing draw away to Morecambe.
Preston's priority on Saturday must be to try and restrict Ian McDonnell and Neil Rimmer when the duo get to the crease.
The pair's opening partnership of 52 was instrumental in the draw at the weekend and the key to unlocking a good run by Leyland must be to get rid of those two early on.
Both team's are pretty much equal in terms of bowlers, so this game could be quite a close affair which goes a long way to decided how the league table looks at the end of the season.
Meanwhile, Leyland DAF travel to St Annes, who are still in with a chance of walking off with the Northern League title.
DAF suffered at the hands of super skipper Rudra Singh of Blackpool at the weekend, who took eight wickets and hit 27 of the the seaside town's runs to ensure victory.
And things probably won't let up, especially considering the Saints lost during a tense game at Fleetwood last weekend.
A win is what they need to keep their title hopes on track and a win is what they set out for. DAF really need to be on form for this one!
