MY faithful nature spotters, in particular, Ken Melling of Parr, keep me posted about environmental improvements on the St Helens scene, especially among various watery stretches.
Now, the latest report comes from Harry Taylor of Moss Bank who says that, for the first time in living memory, a couple of Canada geese have settled on St Helens Canal.
Apparently, this has caused great interest among workers based close by, who have taken to keeping a protective eye on 'em, and also among an increasing number of amateur ornithologists who toddle down to take a gander!
