WRITERS are wanted to help script Millennium magic (writes Brian GOMM).
Turnpike Community Theatre is seeking amateur and professional script writers to work on its Epic Millennium Play for the year 2000.
Rehearsals are planned for next Spring giving the group time to share and develop ideas.
Backing comes through the Community Grants Scheme which will fund a professional script writer to work with the group.
Turnpike's chair, Gill David, commented wryly: "Because of the time scale the opportunity offered will be most appropriate for people who have attempted such work before and understand its rigours!
"We are sure there are more Terry Wynns in the community. His play 'Gerrum on Side' was performed by Turnpike in 1996."
Turnpike is also looking for volunteers to direct the Christmas performance of 'Beauty and the Beast'.
Replies for the writers' group and Christmas Play must be in by July 7. Contact Gill David on 01942 603195.
