ECCLESTON CC suffered a four wicket defeat at the hands of league leaders Rylands on Saturday.
Batting first, the men from Bobbies Lane started steadily and made 43 off 20 overs before the first wicket fell.
But from there it was all downhill as they slumped to 70 all out.
Top scorer was Connor and he was well supported by Jaundrill with 12 not out.
When Rylands batted, early breakthroughs gave Eccleston some hope. However, Rylands recovered to reach 74-6.
The bowling was shared by Elliott (2-19), Gee (2-34) and Holden (2-19).
In the second team fixture at Bobbies Lane Eccleston were defeated in a low-scoring encounter.
Rylands had first use of the wicket and struggled to 74 all out in the face of fine bowling from Ashurst (5-34), Gornall (3-21) and Johnson (2-12).
However, Eccleston's batsmen were completely out of touch.
Only Smith (13) and Gornall (12) reach double figures as they were all out for 38.
