THE sorrow Astley mum Brenda Rowley must feel.
In less than a year she has lost both a beloved son and husband.
She claims the fight to find justice for the death of her son, Malcolm, contributed to the passing of husband, Fred, just two months ago from heart disease.
But her will is so strong she has battled on alone, coping with double heartbreak.
Brenda wants to see someone pay for the death, in a bath, of her 30-years-old severely handicapped son.
He could neither walk or talk and died in a Salford social services bungalow on July 18 last year.
He had lived there with two others, and two members of staff giving 24 hour care, for eight years.
She alleges that despite investigations and reports there has been one big cover up.
Almost one year on Brenda has called in Mencap to help highlight her plight, and she wants others in similar turmoil to contact her with the view to forming a stronger campaign group.
There is one thing for sure. She is a determined woman, and will not give up.
And no-one can blame her for that. I admire her courage and will to soldier on under such duress.
I'm sure we all wish her all the best in establishing a satisfactory outcome.
