AN exhibition of paintings by Burnley artist Brian Gill has opened at the Central Library - his first display of watercolours.
Mr Gill, 63, of Beckenham Court, had an operation for throat cancer at Blackburn Royal Infirmary earlier this year and says the success has given him a new lease of life.
He is undergoing follow-up treatment at Christies.
Mr Gill studied technical drawing in early life and later took art classes at Burnley College.
He started his working life as a joiner and later worked for large building companies in Africa before returning to his home town.
His favourite subjects are local scenes, especially moorland,
The exhibition in the lending library runs until July 17.
