TWO new white knuckle rides have resulted in Burnley fun fair being even bigger and better this year.
The Millennium ride and the Tip Top ride were enjoyed for the first time in Burnley when the fair opened its doors to the public.
Visitors to Fulledge recreation ground during the next five days will be faced with a choice of £4million-worth of attractions.
Spokesman for the Showmen's Guild Funfair, Billy Hill, said: "We have all the usual games and refreshment stalls, as well as the dodgems, waltzers and sizzler - something for everyone. The Big Wheel has made an appearance again after missing a couple of years.
"Hopefully, the weather will stay good during the week and we will attract record crowds. Most of the showmen like coming to Burnley because we get a good reception, especially from the local shopkeepers.
"I'd encourage everyone to come along because it is a fair for the Burnley people."
The fair will run until Monday, from 1pm till 10pm daily but is closed on Sunday. It will then move to Carr Road, Nelson, on Thursday.
