Saints play Sheffield Eagles at the Don Valley Stadium this Saturday (3pm)
The Academy side defeated London Broncos 42-12 at Knowsley Road on Sunday. Grant Bithell ran in four tries with the others being scored by Chris Giles (2) and Sean Conway. Goals were kicked by Chris Dootson (5) and John Braddish (2). The Academy travel to Sheffield on Saturday, kick-off 12.40pm.
Saints' Alliance team leap-frogged over Hull to the top of the table with a 46-38 victory over London Broncos at Knowsley Road. Their tries were scored by man-of-the-match Alan Cross (2), Steve Hall (2), John Kirkpatrick, Danny Pimblett, John Hamilton and Drew Ashcroft. John Braddish kicked seven goals. Sheffield Eagles visit Knowsley Road tonight (Thursday) kick-off 7.30pm.
South Wales Schoolboys and Worcester open-age team were guests of Saints at the match against London Broncos on Sunday. The Welsh boys were beaten by St. Helens
Christopher Hill, of Cowley, has been chosen in the Great Britain and Ireland Junior Lions' squad which is currently touring Queensland.
Six local under-15 starlets have been selected to attend the Puma-Sportsmatch Player Development Camp at Ampleforth College from July 12/15. They are Philip Anderton, Mark Costello, Mike Ledger, Mark Lennard and Liam Williams (all of Blackbrook Royals) and Gareth Fryer (Crusaders)
