WHILE most of the country is hoping for the glorious weather to continue this weekend for one local sportswoman cloud cover and rain would be a Godsend!
Bury Times Running Matters columnist Marie Caldwell (pictured left) tomorrow competes in the gruelling Humberside 24 Hour Track Race and a sun-drenched Saturday certainly isn't high on her list of priorities.
Sixty-one-year-old Marie hopes to cover more than 90 miles during the race that will begin at 10am tomorrow morning running through to 10am on Sunday.
The Holcombe Brook mum's 24 hour record is 103 miles and following her final training run on Tuesday she confident of another good time.
Before doubting Marie's sanity there is method in her madness as she is raising money for Bury Hospice.
