LYNX pressed the self-destruct button after demonstrating that they were by far the better side at Dewsbury.
The home side finished celebrating their second win in six games and Lynx were left hanging their heads after they had staged a comeback.
A disastrous start saw Lynx 14-0 down in the first 15 minutes thanks to scores from Adrian Flynn, Mark Haigh and Brendan O'Meara.
Lynx's defeat was made all the more galling by the comeback they staged - winger Dave Ratcliffe immediately answering with a fine run to cross the line.
Steven Gee and Neil Alexander followed suit before PJ Solomon put the visitors in front, 20-14 at half time.
Shortly into the second half, Dewsbury were back on level terms with Lynx when Barry Eaton - who kicked four goals - darted over.
To be fair to Lynx, they dug their heels in and fought to get back in front and, with a drop goal from Neil Flanagan and converted try by Hodgkinson, looked worthy winners at 27-20.
But Dewsbury's man of the match Eaton could not rest and his persistence, along with sloppy mistakes from Lynx, combined to give the home side a rare win.
Eaton put Dewsbury one point in front with his second try 11 minutes from time and his side doubled their efforts.
Andrew Spink completed the scoring with a powerful run through a crowded Lynx defence to seal the win at 34-27.
