LEAKING sulphuric acid caused the closure of a street in Burnley town centre today .
Firefighters were called when the driver of a lorry containing about 50 plastic drums of acid pulled up outside Burnley Police Station to report a minor bump with a Holland's Pies vehicle.
The driver then noticed the leaking acid.
Station officer Steve Cope said just one of the drums was leaking and only about a litre of the acid was involved in the spillage.
