A FULL investigation is under way into a horror accident at a Rossendale quarry in which a man died.
The victim has been named as John Barry, 43, of Cutgate Road, Norden, Rochdale.
Mr Barry was working near a stone crushing machine at Whitworth Quarry at about 5.30pm on Tuesday when it is thought his arm became trapped in a conveyor belt taking stone into the crusher.
He was dragged into the machine and was dead when the emergency services arrived.
The investigation is being carried out by police and the Health and Safety Executive.
Police say there are no suspicious circumstances.
