OFFICIALS of the Jennings Ribblesdale League have denied claims they have been involved in discussions about becoming a feeder league to the Northern League.
But officials from the two league's have met to discuss the possibility of setting up an inter-league cup competition similar to that already being contested between the Lancashire League and the Central Lancashire League.
A statement issued by the Ribblesdale League said: "The Ribblesdale Cricket League have never intimated or discussed the possibility of becoming a feeder league to the Northern Cricket League in a Premier League pyramid system.
"We did hold a meeting with Northern League officials back in December when we discussed the possibility of setting up an inter-league cup competition similar to that already being run between the Lancashire League and the Central Lancashire League.
"But how the league progresses is very much in the hands of the clubs themselves."
