REBECCA White continued her steady road to recovery from serious injury with her best time of the season so far.
The Blackburn Harriers sprinter, and a member of the British junior Athletics team, clocked 12.5 seconds to win the 100 metres at the Mid Lancs League meeting at Witton Park on Sunday.
The 19-year-old, who is recovering from a stress fracture, also won the triple jump with 11.50 metres and came runner-up to Laura White of Pendle in the long jump, who won with a leap of 5.45m.
White, who raced for the British team in last year's World Junior Championships, is keeping a low profile build-up on the Mid Lancs League circuit, is now hoping to get her British team place back after returning home from studying in America.
She said: "Last year I would have not been happy with that time but considering I am recovering from injury I have to be pleased with it as it is my fastest time so far this season."
And Rebecca's sister Samantha White made sure it was a family double when she won the under 15s girls' 200m.
In fact it was a good day all round on the track for the Harriers with Matthew Wood winning both the boys under 13s 100m and 200m races, Anna Brookes winning the girls under 13s 200m race and Sarah Willmott winning the seniors 1500m. Rossendale runner Chris White can feel happy with his day's work after coming second in his first ever 800m race behind Matt Neald of Blackburn Harriers with a time of 2mins 05 secs. White also came second in the mens' 200m final.
Hyndburn's Hayley Bullen kept her fine form this season when she won the girls' under 17s 1500m race. It follows her success on the same track last month when she won both the 800m and 300m races in the Witton Park Open race.
Pendle Athletics Club also had a successful day on the track with the powerful under 17s boys' team winning the 4 x 100m race. And also in the sprints, promising young runner Nikki Smith won both the 100m and 200m in the girls' under 13s section.
And in the middle distance race, Laura Finucane won the girls' under 15s 800m race and in the seniors, Craig White won the 200m final.
