REPUBLIC of Ireland internationals Brian Carey and Phil Hardy are set to line-up for Wrexham in their friendly against Accrington Stanley at the Crown Ground tonight.
Manager Brian Flynn has named a host of first team regulars in his side and the Welshmen will use the match as a warm-up for their pre-season trip to the Isle of Man.
Flynn's quartet of summer signings - Dave Lowe, Ian Stephens, Wayne Phillips and Michael Ryan - have all been included in the 14-man squad together with first team skipper Tony Humes and last season's leading goalscorer Karl Connolly. And Stanley fans will also get their first glimpses of John Coleman's new recruits with Mark Shirley, Jay Flannery, Mark Brennan, Steve Hollis, Steve Carragher, Jimmy Bell and Jonathan Smith all likely to make their debuts.
The Wrexham squad is: Walsh, Ryan, Carey, Humes, Hardy, Holcroft, Phillips, Owen, Connolly, Lowe, Stephens, McGregor, Ridler and Edwards.
The match kicks off at 7pm and not 7.30pm as previously advertised.
Meanwhile, Manchester City are expected to send a strong squad to Dark Lane for a friendly against Rossendale United tonight (kick off 7.45pm).
Northern Ireland international Tommy Wright, Georgian Murtaz Shelia, Neil Heaney and Jim Whitley are all set to make an appearance.
Clitheroe begin their pre-season programme with a home game against a Stockport County XI at Shawbridge tomorrow.
First half strikes from Jonathan Macken and Mark Beasley (2) gave a strong Preston North End side a 3-0 victory over Chorley in a pre-season friendly at Victory Park on Tuesday night.
