THIS Sunday is Presidents Day at Ruberoid Sutton Cricket Club and an excellent days entertainment is planned.
Galaxy Cricket Club, made up from some of the best young players in India, arer playing a Sutton Select XI in a 45 overs game starting at 1pm.
There will be an under 13s game starting at 10am, refreshments, a steel band and a disco and karaoke on the evening.
Admission is free and all are welcome.
Sutton's team is from: SS Das (India and Sutton), S Anders (Cheshire and Bowden), I Mackus (St Helens), A Friar (St Helens), G Morrison (St Helens Recs), V Wood (St Helens Recs), V Faul (S Africa and St Helens Recs), A Hitchmough (Widnes), D Heyes (Sefton), P Ackerley (ECB), A Warren (Bootle).
Meanwhile, Sutton played host to Old Parkonians on Saturday. Electing to bat first, Sutton made a quick start but lost early wickets.
Three superb catches saw the Sutton middle order collapse and only Mike Rimmer with 30 showed decent resistance. Sutton were bowled out for 112. Old Parkonians were soon in trouble at 11-2, but crucial dropped catches allowed the visitors to get momentum and they won by six wickets.
The second XI played at Parkonians and were asked to field. Sutton's excellent bowling and fielding limited the home team to 126 all out, skipper Mark Reynolds claiming five wickets.
Sutton's batting did not have its usual solid look but it was good enough to give Sutton victory by four wickets.

On Sunday the Third XI played Spring View away in the cup. Batting first Sutton made 251-3 in 40 overs with Keiran Barr despatching the bowling for 123 not out, Sean Anders 59 and Darren Hockenhull 44. Spring View made a valiant attempt to chase the runs but fell behind the run rate finishing on 194-6.
