LOOK out Milan and Paris - there's a new face waiting in the wings to strut your catwalks.

At 15, fresh faced Raine Davies who sells ice cream on the Prom for spending money, has a modelling contract within her sights after getting down to the last 25 in a national competition.

And if she impresses judges on Saturday (July 17) at London's Grosvenor Hotel she could find herself in the final six of the Elite Model Look competition.

Going under the name of Raine Janna, the Arnold pupil has already briefly tasted fame, coming second in Blackpool's recent Model for the Millennium contest and will be appearing on the front cover of Take A Break magazine in August.

But she was amazed to receive a phone call telling of her latest chance.

It was her singer mum Jan Brett who entered the competition on Raine's behalf after reading it in the Sun newspaper.

The youngster said: "She's a little gem for doing this for me. When I was told about the competition I thought I'd be among 250-300 girls. I couldn't believe it was only 25 from all over the country."

New to the idea of modelling - she says she was a fat child - Raine got a taste for the catwalk when a friend who owned a nearby store asked her to model for a wedding show.

Cleveleys photographer Jeffrey Walker was covering the event, offered to put together a portfolio for her and the rest is history.

"I'm really looking forward to Saturday," she told the Citizen. "I'm pretty confident but not looking forward to the two-day wait until they announce the winners."

Proud mum Jan also has every confidence in her daughter's future on the catwalks, saying: "I think Raine looks like Naomi Campbell because she looks as if she's floating when she walks. I think she's got a good chance."

Until her big break, however, it's back to her part-time job of serving ice cream on the promenade. It seems even potential supermodels have to earn pocket money.
