NEW Bamber Bridge general manager Mick Hoyle has spoken of his delight at joining Bamber Bridge.
As revealed by the Citizen last week, Hoyle has agreed to join Brig in a behind-the-scenes role.
His arrival at Irongate comes just three months after he left fellow UniBond Premier side Lancaster, a team he was with for more than 11 years.
Brig are planning to make a serious challenge for Conference status, with the ground being pulled up to standard in the process.
And Mick says he can't wait to get stuck in. "I am delighted to join Bamber Bridge and am pleased to be back with a UniBond club. It is a good move for me and, hopefully, for Bamber Bridge as well."
One of Mick's first jobs was to enlist the support of the Citizen in sponsoring last night's pre-season clash with PNE - a deal he was keen to arrange following his close relationship with our Lancaster sister paper.
North West Construction Ltd were sharing the sponsorship with your favourite free weekly.
He added: "I am looking forward to the challenge here. The club wants promotion and I want to be involved in that."
Manager Tony Greenwood and his assistant Phil Entwistle will retain responsibility for footballing matters, drawing on Mick's help when required.
Mick intends to appoint a commercial manager at the club in the near future.
