RADCLIFFE branch of the Halifax estate agency is among 49 in the country bought by CGU.
CGU is one of the UK's leading providers of pension, investment and protection products.
The Halifax branch in Blackburn Street will become part of General Accident Property Services, CGU's estate agency arm.
Existing staff are being retained and the new owners stress it will be "business as usual."
The purchase of the branches is part of General Accident Property Services' strategy of concentrating on the residential property market.
