PREPARE for a howling evening of fun this week as Ashton Memorial is transformed into Baskerville Hall.
As the Dukes enters its 15th season of promenade theatre, Arthur Conan-Doyle's masterpiece "Hound of the Baskervilles" will be brought to life, setting the scene for terror, intrigue and all manner of mysterious happenings.
The Ashton plays are always unique because they offer a fully interactive experience for the audience. Those that arrive early can join in with the action and excitement and could take home a special prize! The more keen-eyed can look for clues while they venture from scene to scene as each one is performed in a different part of the park.
The actors have to undergo costume changes in trees, switching microphone packs in bushes and a great deal of rushing around behind the scenes to make it all work.
Tickets can be obtained from the Dukes box office on 66645. If you choose to go, however, heed this warning - behind the whistling winds and rustling leaves of the Ashton Memorial may lurk the Hound, the curse that haunts the Baskerville family name. Be very, very careful...
