BIG-hearted members and staff at the family-run Hippodrome Bingo Club have raised more than £3,600 for Alder Hey's Rocking Horse Appeal Fund.
They were moved to help after learning of the plight of little Callum Houghton - the four-year-old son of members, Julie Houghton and Steve Griffiths - who is receiving treatment at Alder Hey for leukaemia.
Members and staff at the club in Corporation Street organised collections and other fund-raising events to realise a grand total of £3,650.45.
Ian Pilkington, son of club manager Mike, said: "We were delighted with the amount because it is going to a very good cause and I would particularly like to thank two of our members, Ann Harding and Maureen Nugent, who did so much work for the appeal.
