DISTRICT nurse Joan Jones is hoping to go to 'the top of the world' to raise money for disadvantaged youngsters.
For Joan, who lives in Prescot but who works in health centres across St Helens, is aiming to join a 100 km trek across the Himalayas in November organised by the Youth Hostels Association.
But first she needs to find £2,000 sponsorship to fund the trip and she is currently about £500 short which she needs to raise by the end of this month.
Joan said: "I am a member of the Youth Hostels Association the Youth Hostels Association and all the money I raise will be donated to association's 'Give us a Break' project which specialises in sending disadvantaged children on holiday. I just hope I can raise the minimum £2,000 to book my place then I can start looking to boost this worhy cause."
