LIKE County Councillor George Slynn (Letters, July 12), I am a born and bred Harwooder and although I don't always agree with his policies, I share his belief that for the good of Great Harwood, as well of Safeway, their proposed supermarket is a must.
Years ago, planning permission for Brooke Bond Oxo's new premises was refused and so they left the town and Harwood's demise began.
Now, planning permission is again required and I beg the powers that be to grant Safeway a 'yes' vote and allow Great Harwood a revival.
Let Harwood once more be a jewel in Hyndburn's crown.
