SICK children were being turned away from a hospital because of a serious doctor shortage in the district.
Health bosses heard that admissions to the children's wards at Burnley's Marsden Hospital were refused, and patients were sent to Blackburn hospitals.
They were told that one distraught mother thought her boy was going to die because help was refused at Burnley.
