ON July 20, 1969, I was on holiday at Slofok on Lake Balaton, Hungary.
To be blunt, Hungarian TV then was dire and on one day a week there was none. The best programme I had seen was Laurel and Hardy in 'Them Thar Hills.'
But in the hotel lounge that day and all over Hungary the programme on the only channel was the moon landing live. It must have been the best programme ever shown - history in the making.
