CAR showroom colleagues amazed their customers by having their hair bleached blond.
Everything was normal at Lookers VW, Burnley, as Dave Demetriou, Jason Whittaker, Nigel Armstrong, Paul Southern and John Rushton all sported dark locks - until hairdresser Kay Hewson, of Jo's salon on Coal Clough Lane, Burnley, got her hands on the peroxide.
Clive Grady was all set to join in but was warned against having his receding hair bleached and Andrew Burfield stood in for him.
The fun stunt was to raise money for the Christie Hospital in Manchester, the Looker group's chosen charity for this year.
Sales manager Paul Southern, who organised it, said: "I was concerned that some of the lads might chicken out, but they all agreed to go through with it in the end.
"My hair looks striking! My girlfriend went hysterical when she saw it."
The stunt has raised between £250 and £350 for the hospital. But Paul said that total could increase because customers were adding donations when they heard about it.
Paul added: "Most of us are going to let the blond hair grow out, but John said he likes it and is going to keep having his hair dyed!"
