THE search for our Literacy Achiever of the Year is over, resulting in not only one, but two winners of the title.
We invited schools who had used our Super Story Search literacy project during the past school year to nominate up to three pupils who, in the opinion of teachers, deserved the title and superb prize of a helicopter flight to a free day out at Alton Towers, generously donated by Heli2000 of Blackpool airport.
The two lucky and deserving pupils whose names were selected from the prize draw are Saiqua Jabeen of Walshaw High School, Burnley, and Meher Chowdhry, a pupil at Edge End High School, Nelson. Both winners will take a guest each on their day to remember, on a date to be arranged.
