YOUNGSTERS from a Darwen primary school believe noise is something to shout about.
And, to prove it, they have taken part in a series of events aimed at highlighting noise nuisance.
The 10-year-olds from Sudell Primary School acted out a short play about the problems of noise and also entered a "Paint a Nuisance" poster competition.
Environmental health officers from Blackburn town hall organised the project following a request from the school to help them mark National Noise Action Day.
As part of the project, the class also helped the team measure noise levels at a local factory, a park, a scrapyard and by the side of a busy road.
The winner of the poster competition was Georgina Pearson, who received a personal stereo and a book token.
Her winning poster will be displayed at the school, various council offices throughout the borough and in libraries.
