BRICKS were thrown at firefighters called to a blazing barricade on a troubled Burnley estate. Emergency crews were attacked in Melrose Avenue on the Stoops and Hargher Clough estate. When they arrived a number of people were sitting on furniture at the side of the road. Rubbish had been piled up and set on fire. As the blaze was put out, bricks were thrown but no-one was hurt.
