WITH just three fixtures left, both Jonathan Wright Memorial League championships were decided this week.
In the First Division Malt and Hops retained their championship status in champion style with an emphatic 26-0 win over Graham and Brown. This was also a record score for the league, beating the old record by four goals.
Results went in favour of Miners Arms in the Second Division and with their victory over TLM Blackburn came the Second Division title. Back in the First Division Manxman and Angel met each other with the winner claiming the First Division runners-up spot and Manxman just dodged home 3-2. Shadsworth Centre finished the season playing their best football of the season and beat both GW Flooring and Jubilee Hotel.
In the Second Division Pump Handle beat Lucas to third place with a 5-2 win over them. This defeat meant The Pub gained runners-up place without playing. The major surprise was the end of season collapse of favourite for the title Hamilton.
Firstly Sough Athletic returned to form and outplayed Hamilton in a 6-1 win. Hamilton then followed this defeat with a disappointing 2-2 draw with RHP Bearings.
