I WOULD like to record my admiration and appreciation of the superbly successful Schools Music Event at Ewood Park on July 12 which I opened and enjoyed every minute of.
I estimate there were 2,000-plus children and young people singing and playing their instruments to an audience of mums, dads and others that also must have exceeded 2,000.
That's up to 5,000 citizens, junior and not so junior, demonstrating skills, having fun and making people happy and proud.
I would like to thank everyone concerned for their effort on the day and before. This was a glittering team effort.
It was exactly the "right note" on which to end our first full academic year as a local education authority.
