A NELSON school has qualified for the prestigious national Investor in People standard.
St Paul's CE Primary School employs 22 teaching and non-teaching staff to look after the educational and welfare needs of 240 pupils aged from four to 11.
Deputy head teacher Julie Bradley said: "We have always placed a strong emphasis on staff training and development but standards are now even higher thanks to the Investor in People programme.
"We are all very proud of the achievement which puts us on an equal footing with all the other schools and businesses which have achieved the standard.''
Next target for staff at St Paul's is a Quality Mark.
ELTEC provides funding to the East Lancashire Education Business Partnerships so they can support schools in their efforts to achieve the Investor in People standard.
There are now more than 550 East Lancashire employers committed to the standard.
