LOSTOCK Hall student Lian Harter is to jet out to a hurricane-ravaged island.
The 20-year-old, who attends university in Liverpool, will fly out to El Salvador on August 1 for five weeks to help rebuild the homes of the 45,000 people, victims of Hurricane Mitch, which swept through the island in 1997.
While out in the remote American country, Lian will have plenty to keep her busy, with a diverse schedule planned for the hard-working charity worker. She said: "I am working as part of a bigger project and we have a lot to do.
"I will be doing agricultural work, and helping to build a church and a school as well.
