THE post office is in existence to provide a service. Moving Ramsbottom Post Office to the new Co-op building would diminish that service at a time when staff should be seeking ways of improving it.
Also, the spokesperson quoted in the Bury Times story said it was only 100 yards further for customers to walk. Remember that the extra distance would be multiplied by two and, anyway, it is probably much further then 100 yards!
As I am well into my eighties I am filled with fear and trepidation about this proposed move.
