PEACEKEEPING soldier Corporal Wayne "Danny" Daintith is pie-ning for a pin-up.
Kosovo-based Danny, 30, of the Pioneer Corps (pictured) is desperate for a darling with a heart of beef.
The Leigh lad who loves Greenhalgh's meat pies is so homesick for a growler he wrote to the piemasters asking for a picture of one of their finest to hang in his tent!
Rugby player Danny, who has been in the Army for eight years and has also served in Bosnia, pleaded: "I'm a Leigh lad who loves your meat pies. I know you can't send me a pie, but I wondered if you could send me a picture of one?
"I can put it in the tent and look forward to coming home."
Greenhalgh's swiftly despatched a picture of their pies to Danny in Pristina and with it a £10 voucher to use at his local pie shop when he arrives home on leave.
His father, Michael, said: "He's always liked pies, especially Greenhalgh's."
